Dear Kissabells,
How do I make my hair look smooth and sleek
in this humidity?
Jenni H. New Orleans,LA
Dear Jenni,
A few tips are:
1. Put your conditioner in the fridge, this will instantly seal
your cuticle because of the low temperature.
2. Rinsing thoroughly with a cold blast of water will
eliminate dirt and oil (that makes your hair look dull) and
also seal and shine hair.
3. Try REDKEN STRAIGHT 05 straightening balm it really
eliminates frizz with humidity-resistance smoothness. Put
05 on wet hair section and blow-dry.
*also if using a flat iron/curling iron try REDKEN VINYL
GLAM 02 for RUNWAY shine!!!!!!
Kissabells,
I have very fine hair and can't ever seem to
get enough volume; What can I do????
Amanda T. New Orleans, LA
Dear Amanda,
Apply REDKEN ROOTFUL 06 to your roots, it is long
lasting and not stiff or sticky. Then apply REDKEN
thickening LOTION 06 mid-shaft to ends of hair; blow
dry messy (upside down is always fun!) Then section your
hair and finish with a ceramic brush or Velcro rollers for
more volume.
Dear Kissabells,
I love it when I get a blow out from you it
lasts so long! How can I do this at home?
Mary M. River Ridge, LA
Dear Mary,
First of Thank you for such a nice compliment! It is very
simple, section, section, section!!!!! Sectioning your hair is
the trick. Now I know you hair is fine so you can follow
some of the same tricks I use on Amanda, but you could
also use REDKEN FULL FRAME 07 volumizing mousse, this
is also another humidity free product.
Kissabells,
I want highlights but I am afraid it will
look un-natural what should I do?
Lori S. New Orleans, LA
Lori,
A partial highlight is always the best way to mimic how the
sun lightens your hair. Also super fine streaks will be less
upkeep and the won't look so oblivious. *Longer hair
should have even smaller streaks.
Kissabells,
I keep hearing of a new technique called
Balayage; could you explain what Balayage is?
Darnell H. NOLA
Darnell,
Balayage is a French word that means "sweeping". This is
a brand new technique to apply color without foils. It
requires less upkeep because it goes on heavier at the
bottom versus the top. You can also combine two or three
colors to add dimension this is called cascading.
